Rep. Manzullo Announces Rep. Reed as New Co-Chair of House Manufacturing Caucus |
[WASHINGTON] Co-Chair and Co-Founder of the House Manufacturing Caucus, Congressman Don Manzullo (R-IL) today announced Congressman Tom Reed (R-NY) will take over as the Co-Chair of the caucus with fellow Co-Chair and Co-Founder, Congressman Tim Ryan (D-OH), in January when the 113th Congress convenes.“I’m thrilled that Congressman Reed will continue to carry the flag on manufacturing issues in the House of Representatives after I leave office next month. It has been a tremendous honor to chair the manufacturing caucus with Congressman Ryan these past ten years,” Manzullo said. “I am confident that he and Congressman Reed will continue to champion the many bi-partisan issues within manufacturing.”
“We are excited to be joining the House Manufacturing Caucus as co-chair and thank Congressman Manzullo for his dedication to the caucus and his years of service in Congress,” Reed said. “We are looking forward to working with Congressman Ryan to continue to build the caucus’ reputation as a voice and a resource for the manufacturing sector – a group whose success is vital to our country’s ability to make an economic recovery.”
“I’m excited to work with Rep. Reed and continue the progress we made with Rep. Manzullo,” Ryan said. “Manufacturing is the backbone of our economy and an essential part of our economic recovery. We’ve seen an upswing in manufacturing over the last few years, and I look forward to working with Rep. Reed to find more innovative, bipartisan solutions to keep that momentum going.”
Founded in 2003, the House Manufacturing Caucus hosts briefings and roundtable discussions with industry experts, disseminates information, and provide resources so that Members can learn about the opportunities and challenges facing America’s manufacturing sector. The Caucus also aims to provide Members with information to help constituents and spur job creation in manufacturing and associated industries.
